What will happen to a flat screen 42" lcd tv if i leave it on constantly 24/7?

just wanna know the lifespan of a modern tv if its on constantly....like my gran has it even when she goes to bed shen leaves it on for the dog! daft i know but thats old folk for ya!!!!
