What's with the random bear in Narnia: Prince Caspian?

There's a part when the main characters are standing around and they all say, "For Narnia" and its supposed to be really heroic, but then a random bear speaks up (which is never shown or heard from before this) and says "For Narnia" along with. He is around for the remainder of the movie, showing up during battles or diolouge sequences, just standing there doing nothing and saying nothing - he's just... there. What is the point? Is he important in future films? This question has been bothering me ever since I saw the movie...
