I need advice on picking a rate for the US Navy?

I am planning on joining the Navy, but I am in complete turmoil about which rate to choose. So I wanted any advice on any rate people have to give. Obviously its hard to answer without knowing me, but with that aside, just some pros and cons about which ever rates you want to tell me about. Also, please only answer if you are in the navy or were in recently. thanks
