Is parading dead soldier's bodies on a highway a wise choice?

Let's say I live in an unnamed country which is a permanent member of NATO and a very close ally to a world's biggest imperial superpower. Five years ago my country entered a pointless and losing war in a god-forsaken country half the way across the globe in which it has no own security interests, only entering it at the will of that imperial superpower. Since - oue brave and courageous soldiers who swore to defend my country die there in larger numbers for nothing. Their bodies brought back home and paraded on one of our major highways to encourage respect for these soldiers and their duty. But if their duty is to be a servant and sacrifice their lives for a foreign belligerent colonial imperial interests - what honor is there in it?
